Volunteer with EBR

Want more birds in your life? Apply to be an EBR volunteer! Volunteering is a fun and easy way to support our mission and help our animals thrive.

Help us fulfill our mission

Did you know that EBR is an entirely volunteer-run organization? Beyond our need for foster homes, EBR has a consistent need for motivated individuals to help out with our day-to-day operations. Examples of these ongoing positions are coordinators, home inspectors, grant writers, social media content generators, and foster home assistants. Do you only have occasional time to help? Sporadic opportunities include special event staffing, toy making, and assistance with transporting donations.

How do I volunteer?

  1. Application: Start your volunteer journey by submitting a volunteer application.

  2. Connect: After receiving your application, our Volunteer Coordinator will reach out to you confirming your application. (Because EBR is entirely volunteer-run, communication can be delayed by up to a week)

  3. Opportunities: The Volunteer Coordinator will inform you of the current volunteer opportunities available, and will provide you with helpful resources to get started.

  4. Bird Care Class: Volunteers wishing to become home inspectors and foster home assistants must take and complete our online Bird Care Class.

Do volunteers interact directly with birds?

Most of our volunteer positions do not directly interact with our foster birds, but instead help us in day-to-day operations outside the realm of fostering. For those wishing to interact directly with birds, please consider joining our foster program.
